Longstitch journals (leather spine + hard covers)

A new workshop that offers a fun variation on the classic Longstitch binding. In this class you'll learn how to make a journal with a soft-leather spine and hardboard covers, hand-stitched using coloured thread and a beautiful Longstitch binding technique.

We'll use eco-friendly upcycled leathers, an assortment of different papers for the book’s pages, and a colourful range of waxed-linen threads to make a unique and personalised book.

This workshop is ideal for complete beginners, as well as those who would like to expand their range of bookbinding techniques. You'll be able to examine finished examples of these books, and be inspired by the variations and possibilities.

All bookbinding materials and tools are provided as part of the workshop. And all templates and instructions are also included so you will be able to make more books at home.
