Freshly listed today in both my MadeIt and Etsy online shops, these are the last remaining 8 of my vintage wooden button brooches. I handmade these little sweeties from an assortment of genuine vintage wooden buttons I originally purchased from a Sydney antiques trader (who sourced them from Paris), and I just really love the rustic wood paired with thick colourful thread.
The packaging was a fun project in itself: I made the backing cards using tiny squares of co-ordinating vintage uphostery fabrics, in colours that remind me of the dark interiors of a gentleman's smoking lounge.
I have managed to stash a couple of the button brooches away in my own jewellery box. These two vintage buttons made a nice addition to a cute knitted neck-warmer I bought at the West End Twilight Markets last winter:
