I was out wandering the streets of West End this afternoon when I stopped to photograph the always-interesting community noticeboard on the corner of Boundary Street and Vulture Street:
One poster in particular caught my eye... with its soft green background, cute little illustrations and embroidery embellishments, and the words FABRIC-A-BRAC jumping off the page:
So tonight I looked up the website listed at the bottom of the poster, and it seems that the Fabric-a-brac event is a bit of a NZ export, crossing over from lovely Wellington to our little sunny city of Brisbane! And...it's on NEXT WEEKEND! You gotta love community noticeboards :)
What is this Fabric-a-brac market, you ask? The website says it best: Fabric! Vintage Buttons! Patterns! Trims! Sewing Accessories! Great Coffee! Sweet Treats! Girlie Chat! Yay!
Sounds good to me :)
And just so you can scribble all the details down into your calendar, the date for the Fabric-a-brac is the 3rd of September, from 1:30pm to 5:00pm in the Serbian Orthodox Church Hall on 243-247 Vulture Street, South Brisbane.
For more details (particularly if you wanted to book a table or half-table to sell your fabrics & things), head over to here: www.fabric-a-brac.com or email Lindsay at fabricabracbris@gmail.com.
Maybe see you there!

Are you going to look, or sell?

I'll be on the buying side of the table. My fabric stash ain't that grand (just yet) that I'd have anything to sell...
