Yes, yes, I know it's nearly the end of July, and it's taken me this long to blog-post my Finders Keepers wrap-up, but hey, that's life with a new baby! Better late than never, I suppose ;)

We did indeed enjoy a terrific weekend - the stalls/music/food were all top-notch, the Old Museum venue was spectacular, and the atmosphere was just incredible. Those Finders Keepers girls certainly know how to put on a brilliant event..!
Brisbane came through with some gorgeous winter weather, perfect for the outdoor eating and music.

I love the way Mark Lobo captures the true 'feel' of the markets - his photography constantly amazes me! Check out his work over here at www.marklobo.com.au and also over here at the Finders Keepers blog http://www.thefinderskeepers.com/blog/2011/07/brisbane-markets-aw11-wrap-up/

It's been quite a while since Shelbyville's been at a Finders Keepers, so there was something really nice in being back there again, allbeit in different circumstances, i.e. a nursing baby has never been part of the equation before, and nor has a baby capsule that makes packing the car and transporting the stock somewhat trickier!
The little man seemed to enjoy the market experience... when he wasn't sleeping soundly in the bucket in the corner, he was being cooed over and cuddled by all sorts of lovely ladies around the markets!

One of the things I love best about these type of markets is the sense of discovery in finding new and interesting and beautiful things. Some of my favourite finds this FK market were:
Kylie & Sarah's gorgeous collaboration of clay and crochet - little tiny sculptures called 'wait stones', looking so sweet in the centre of the Paper Boat Press table.

My friend Lou's intrigueing little project called Postale Society which can be described as an unlisted club for the collecting & telling of stories through correspondence for the revival of the postal custom.

...And this, what I reckon is the BEST use of old cuisennaire blocks I've ever seen - as price signage on the Madz Has Runaway stall. Love it!

And as always, it was lovely to see Herbert & Friends at the market with Torunn's stall filled with the cutest felt creatures ever. My heart melts just looking at this sweet little red panda!

Opposite me was the Bespoke Letterpress stall, utterly brimming with Alischa's gorgeous letterpressed goodies and other bits and bobs. I know I wasn't the only one who spent many a pretty penny at this stall, it was irresistible!

And to conclude, just a few photos snapped around the Old Museum over the weekend:

And finally, a huge, huge, HUGE thanks to my hubby DD and my dear friend Miss Jill for all their incredible help running the stall over the weekend while I was mostly on Mummy duties - thanks guys, I couldn't have done it without you :)
Mwaa, mwaa, mwaa.
