The other week I dug out from the back of the cupboard my collection of op-shop purchased cassette tapes, after DD suggested I try doing a series of cassette-inspired shrinky-dink jewellery to add to the range. I was quite enamoured with the idea of combining a retro subject (cassettes) with a retro material (shrinky-dinks) so I dusted the cassette tapes off and laid them out across the studio floor to assess all the various styles of mix-tape I had unwittingly collected over the years.
Back at the computer, I was inspired to create a series of 16 different cassette designs, and by the end of the week I'd made them into badges, pendants, keyrings and the cutest little cassette earring-studs.
I've just added the cassette badges to my Made It (and Etsy) online shop, but I'll also have the entire cassette range available at the Finders Keepers market coming up in early December if you wanted to see them in person.

they (& you) are just so cool!

did you end up doing any shrinky dinks with the original tapes? does the process work with them?
