I was so excited the other night to receive a wonderful little gift in my mailbox, all sticky-taped up but otherwise ready to go. Aside from my usual assortment of eBay 'presents', it was the first, proper, non-bill, Australia Post mail to arrive at our new address (we moved into a new apartment a month or so ago) and I was extra happy that it had found its way to me finally, after a somewhat convoluted postal mis-adventure involving an absent-minded boyfriend and an incorrect address.
How it all came about was when, last time Georgi was down in Sydney, we made a pact to buy each other a copy of Keri Smith's fabulous book Wreck This Journal and post it to each other (this being one of the creative directions written on the back cover). So I ordered in some more copies of the book to my local bookstore Journeys, and when they arrived, I sticky-taped up one and posted it to Georgi's home in Brisbane whereupon she would receive it on her return from her 6-week European trip.
And now, hooray, I have mine and she has her's and the swap is complete, so now the 'wrecking' can begin in earnest...
In other exciting Keri Smith related news, I recently stopped by her blog Wish Jar and discovered that she has finally released details about her newest book!
How to be an explorer of the world is its name, and while it's not officially out until October, she has posted a cute little sneak-peek website here and it looks very intriguing - definitely worth a look. I've already placed my pre-order!! :)
